A meme that has been trending on Twitter since last week began circulating as an ad campaign for Marriott’s extended stay at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The meme features a man standing in a corner of the hotel lobby with a sign that reads, “Stay safe in hotel lobby, staying in place.”
It also includes a woman in a red bikini wearing a hijab.
The ad shows a man walking past the sign, with the caption, “We are Marriott, Stay Safe.”
The hashtag has been used more than 400,000 times since being posted by an account known as @MarriottL.
A., which is a reference to the hotel chain’s logo and the logo of Marriott International.
In a statement to FoxNews.com, Marriott said it had no knowledge of the campaign.
“Our goal is to provide the safest and most convenient experience possible for guests,” the statement read.
“We have worked closely with the Las Vegans to identify the most appropriate signage for our hotel, including the hotel’s branding and its own unique design language.
We will continue to work with the community to enhance the hotel and make it as comfortable as possible for everyone.”
